So how does one get a tour job anyway??

For those of you who haven't heard, I got a job on the touring production of "The Producers" - the musical based on the movie with Gene Wilder and Zero Mostel. I will be the assistant wardrobe head.

So here are my answers to your FAQ:

1. I don't know our schedule. Yes, it's possible I will be in your city. Yes, of course I will call you! What a silly question! Next!

2. No, I have no idea what my job will entail.

3. No, I have not met anyone I will be working for or with.

4. Yes, this is a strange situation. But it's theatre, therefore it's normal.

5. Yes, barring a libel suit, I will be posting on this blog about my experiences on tour.

6. Yes, I'm sure there will be some interesting stories.

7. No, I do not want to hear about it if you do not find them interesting.

8. Yes, I'm kidding. But I always love comments so leave them! I love to know who is reading.

9. I will be leaving in 12 days.

10. Yes, I am currently packing. Well I'm currently typing and texting Kateri, but mostly I'm packing.

11. Yes, my washing machine has chosen this week to go on the fritz. (How very perceptive of you to ask this question!!) And while I appreciate the fact that this machine has served me faithfully for 9 long years, I sort of wish it had gutted it out for another week...

12. Yes, this probably makes me slightly ungrateful. Thanks for noticing...

13. Yes, I still have a lot of packing to do.

14. Yes, I am packing all my books.

15. Yes, all.

16. Yes, I know this means that I currently have 15 boxes of books stacked around my living room but I love each and every book and I can't bear to part with them.

17. No, I will not give any of them to you.

18. Please stop harrassing me about my books! I love them! I'm keeping them! Case closed!

And on that note, back to my boxes. My next post will attempt to answer the first question I wrote up top...

Keeping checking back. Things will get fascinating, I promise.

Yes, fascinating!

Yes, I promise!

Ok, go to bed, will ya??

Edited to add:
19. Yes, I am excited. Please stop asking me this question unless you are willing to come help me pack!

My brilliant students

Another History of Fashion class and more rock star paper dolls. The class was much smaller so we did fewer dolls, but they were great.

So here we have young Elvis ( I encouraged her to do white jumpsuited, rhinestone, mutton chop Elvis, but I think she was a little daunted...)

And this is my favorite, Jimi Hendrix.

And you will notice that they are posed on packing boxes?? More about that in my next post when I get back from NYC.
